Psychiatrist, Internist and Medical Director of Providence ElderPlace, an innovative program of all-inclusive care for the elderly. Former Medical Director of the Tuality Center for Geriatric Psychiatry.
Participants will gain a more thorough understanding of what differentiates the most common dementias from acute episodes of delirium; take away with them an understanding of the tenets of non- pharmacological interventions for behaviors commonly seen in delirium and dementia; and online resources will be shared.

Liz speaks locally and nationally on dementia, geriatric medications, parent care, intimacy in old age, and when to worry about your memory.
Participants will gain a more thorough understanding of cultural and social influences on sexuality in older adults and common issues faced by care communities (screening for sexual predators in staff and residents; barriers to intimacy; determining capacity and consent with dementia present), and understand triggers to reactive behaviors in persons with dementias.
